    With the duo 12000 US, we are setting new benchmarks in giga-moulding. A major step forward for large-format plastic components.

    The duo 700 two-platen machine produces a rear light cover made of PMMA with integrated design & adhesion film (foilmelt) and in-mould PUR coating (clearmelt).

  • Injection moulding solution for e-mobility: EV Battery Pack Covers

    EV Battery Pack Covers produced from plastic material and organosheets. The fully automatically process is done on an ENGEL duo 5500 combi M with 55.000 kN clamping force.

  • Production of Waste Collection Systems

    With a clamping force of 55,000 kN, a shot weight of 27,500 g and a cycle time of 140 sec, the duo 5500 produces 1100-L waste containers.

  • Production of Automotive Front Panel Demonstration Board

    Single-step process combining decoration and scratch-resistant surface protection in one production step by means of IMD and PUR coating.

  • Use of Recycled Materials in the Production of Transport Boxes

    Transport boxes with recycled material in the core are produced on a big duo injection moulding machine using the ENGEL skinmelt plasticising process.

The efficient ENGEL ecodrive servo-hydraulics ensure high economic efficiency in the production of large-volume or large-area parts. It is included in the standard scope of the entire duo series. Thanks to the demand-based pump output, the motors are at rest and do not consume any energy when the machine is at a standstill during cooling, for example.

The duo is a large, versatile injection moulding machine based on a modular principle with compact external dimensions – saving valuable floor space in production. Depending on the machine size, it now offers up to 28% more clamping force with the same tie-bar distance. This maximises the possibilities for mould design, and additional applications can also be used within the same floor space.

Our digital solution iQ clamp control automatically determines the optimum clamping force. This reduces mould wear. Mould breathing is always kept within the ideal range and scrap is reduced.

The modular plasticising unit reduces set-up times and increases machine availability. The rapid barrel change takes place without special tools and shortens downtime. With a flexible nozzle concept and optional set-up assistant, changeover processes are simplified. Interfaces close to the mould via a media plate which enables an efficient mould connection. This speeds up setup, reduces sources of faults and ensures high productivity on large injection moulding machines.

Short cycle times ensure maximum output

The duo’s high-performance injection and plasticising units enable perfect layout for a wide range of applications. In combination with the multi-circuit hydraulics, which performs main and secondary movements in parallel, movement sequences are optimised and cycle times reduced. The high-performance CC300 control unit coordinates all processes precisely and ensures fast and stable machine performance. This enables the shortest cycle times and maximum productivity.
