The Advantages of the duo Large Injection Molding Machine
The ENGEL ecodrive servo-hydraulics ensure high economic efficiency in the production of large-volume or large- area parts. It is included in the scope of the entire duo series. Thanks to the demand-based pump output, the motors are at rest and do not consume energy when the machine is at a standstill during cooling, for example.
The duo is a large, modular injection molding machine with compact footprint – helping save valuable production floor space. Depending on the machine size, it offers up to 28% more clamping force with the same tie-bar distance. This expands mold design possibilities and enables applications within the same footprint.
Our digital solution, iQ clamp control, automatically determines the optimum clamping force. This reduces mold wear. Mold breathing is always kept in the ideal range and scrap is reduced.
The modular plasticizing unit reduces setup times and increases machine availability. Quick barrel changes can be performed without special tools, minimizing downtime. A flexible nozzle concept and optional set-up assistant simplify changeover processes. Tool-proximate interfaces via a media plate enable efficient tool connection. This speeds up setup, reduces sources of error, and ensures high productivity on large injection molding machines.
The duo’s high-performance injection and plasticizing units enable an optimal layout for a wide range of applications. Combined with multi-circuit hydraulics, which execute main and secondary movements in parallel, motion sequences are optimized and cycle times are reduced. The high-performance CC300 control unit precisely coordinates all processes and ensuring fast and stable machine performance. This results in shorter cycle times and maximum productivity.
